1-hour lunch break
— Please bring knee pads and costume that you could dance in.–
The day starts with a two-hour Countertechnique class, which prepares the body and mind for the day.
After a lunch break there is the creative workshop.
It is an improvisation-based laboratory workshop, which is designed based on Peeping Tom’s theatrical language with Yi-chun’s personal experience in several different methods, including the philosophical input from the practice of Countertechnique. In this workshop there are guided exercises starting with activation of the body and mind. The intent is to establish a judgment free environment, minimize expectation, in order to undo habitual acts and unnecessary decorative actions. Everything starts from here and now with naturalistic being and sensitivity.
The participants are guided to the process rediscovering themselves within the frame of their ability and their limitation. By working through the improvisation tasks I hope to reach a mixture where questions the aspect of reality and pushes another dimension into it, either using space, time, or object. Thus in a physical way we create a distorted reality in theater performance.
The playfulness with this workshop is to practice picking out inspirations at their own decisions from the surroundings or from their individualities, and to explore the variations within a narrative task.
